I'm not really a big photography person. As an artformI like it, obviously, but I seldom spend the time appreciating it as perhaps I should. That said, I recently saw the Sony World Photography Awards shortlist, and was sooooo impressed by the entry produced by this fellow, Krzysztof Browko. A beautiful and otherworldy piece.

http://browko-photography.pl/

I checked his site and frankly there are more beautiful images per kilobyte here than I've seen anywhere that I can recall. I'd recommend you to take a look.

Wouldn't it be cool if someone, somewhere could take a url and turn it into music somehow? You know, find some way to output that web page AS music...?

No?

You don't think about that?

Me neither. But, hey, someone did, and surely this is one of those kind of surprises that makes the internet truly interesting. People take these disjointed ideas and make them into a reality. The world needs more of this.

Just type your url in and see how it sounds. :) Here's mine...

<paramname="allowscriptaccess" value="always">

Didn't work in Chrome when I used it. I have to say though, if you click on the subject bar and go to this blog entry as a standalone page, it make a much cooler tune. :)

Blog #7 - Mr Show: The Audition

So, there used to be a series in the US called Mr Show.
On that note. I just want to say a big "hi" to our future robot overlords. Remember, I was behind you guys from the beginning. Please don't blot out the sun with a big cloud, nor shave my head and plug me into some kind of 'matrix' as a weird, totally non-viable meat battery thing.

If you do decide to go down that route, can I suggest you try nuclear power instead? It's much easier. Failing that, try windmills.

Time-lapse footage of our world, shot from the space station. I can't help feeling that our populated areas look like a virus. I would feel sad about that, but then I'd be wishing for our species to become extinct and I don't wish that. Maybe we're like beautiful glowing barnacles in a rock pool. Or bioluminescent shrimp clustering around a warm borehole in the bottom of the ocean. Or maybe a virus.

:(

Either way, we look awesome!

So I could sit here and tell you about what I-I-I-I-'ve been up to. But frankly, who gives a f**k? I certainly don't, and posting it on the internet sure as hell won't make it more interesting. If you must know, I've been hiring voice actors for something. It's one of those random things I get to do in my work on APB. It's great! Yay.

Ok, onto the awesome things. Today, I am introducing you to St Sanders. If you don't know what this is, then you are in for a treat. St Sanders basically started by creating movies known as 'shreds'. Here, he took famous guitar solos and over-dubbed them with terrible versions, timed perfectly to fit the footage. Really bad. So far so good. And very funny. His genius occurred, though, when he created the frankly astonishing clips we'll see in a moment.

Improving upon the above format, he began to tackle the realm of the singer. The first of which (that I saw anyway) was his cover of the Rolling Stones' hit number "Start Me Up". The bizarre thing is, I now know his version verbatim. Me + Drunk night on a karaoke machine = this now.

Annoyingly the embed here function is disabled. But that's ok, simply drop in on the website of the man himself...

St Sander'ssss's' Website ( I think that's the right punctuation).

For those of you that want things now I've also added a couple of other greats, including a particulalry festive number by Marilyn Manson. The Xmas light is shining, baby!

This may be a demotivational poster, or a video, or... all sorts of things. Often such output will have hilarious results. In this case, we look at cheap Anime.

Please enjoy: Girlchan in Paradise, one of the most accurate anime lampoons I've yet to see. It's an oldie, but a goodie. :)

The thing that is on my mind at the moment is inspiration. I'm beginning to wonder if a better word for it might be delusion.

I sat down and tried to write last night. It's not obvious on the site right now that writing is what I love to do, I keep that as 'my thing', the art is just work stuff. Anyway, I tried to write, and all I could see is words. There was no soul in it, just 'they did this, then this happened; it made them feel this way, so they said this'...

Why is it that one day I'll sit down and feel like I'm getting my soul down on the page, and others I might as well be copying from the yellow pages? Which one is right? Am I inspired on those good days, or deluded? I'd love to figure that one out. Personally, if I could spend my whole time being deluded, that'd be ok with me.

Saw this picture today. Thought it was pretty cool:

I'm really into these kitsch horror posters lately. There's something comforting about them. Here's a link to the fellow's website. An excellent artist.
